Blue Star Positano Amalfi Coast private boat tours, daylong cruises and boat rentals offer unforgettable Amalfi coast experiences.
About Blue Star Positano
Blue Star is a family owned and run business located in the heart of Positano. Their booking location is waterfront right on the Positano beach so you can stop in to chat about Amalfi Coast boat tours, create a custom-designed tour for your group, or see what tours are available that you can join. You might be traveling on your own or with another person and like the idea of joining a boat tour with other travelers.
Owners Pepe and Elisabeth have ten fabulous boats that can accommodate groups of 10 to 12. They live and work the Amalfi coast and that's what they want to share with their customers. They also offer a day long boat trip to Capri but Elisabeth stresses that what they really want to share with you is the beauty of the Amalfi coast where they live.
You can find Blue Star Positano on their website, Instagram and Facebook. Contact Elisabeth and the Blue Star team directly by email. You can also reach Blue Star by landline phone or cell phone.
Blue Star boats
All ten of the Blue Star boats are fast and comfortable, equipped with a bathroom, changing room and shower for maximum comfort. The larger boats also have a bedroom.
The boats all have two motors which guarantees maximum safety.
You can rent a boat with a captain or rent and cruise on your own. Owner Pepe is one of the captains and customers love him!
Most of the boats are about 10 m (32 - 38 feet) long which is perfect for a group of 10 to 12 people. A few of the boats are slightly larger and one, Spritz, is just under 7 m and perfect for a smaller group.
Capri island full day boat excursion
Capri Island is part of the Campanian Archipelago and the closest island to Positano. Blue Star doesn't offer boat excursions to the other islands in the Archipelago like Ischia and Procida as they are quite a bit further away.
The Capri boat excursion for a maximum of 12 people, round-trip from Positano, gives you the chance to see the entire island by boat. There are ample stops for a swim and the opportunity to have a delicious seafood lunch in a restaurant that's for the most part only accessible by boat.
There are lots of unique grottos, coves and spots to explore on this Capri boat trip: the Tiberios Jump, the Natural Arch, the White Grotto, the Grotto of Wonders, Villa Malaparte, Faraglioni Rocks and Marina Piccola.
Owner Elisabeth emphasizes that although Blue Star offers this Capri excursion their real passion is sharing the Amalfi coast with customers.
Amalfi Coast group tour
This full day group excursion incorporate lots of swimming and enjoyment of the crystal clear water along the beautiful Amalfi Coast. There are lots of stops at unique bays, inlets and coves many of which are only accessible from the water.
Elisabeth has some favorite spots she loves to share with customers: Praiano and La Gavitella, the Marina di Praia, Fiordo di Furore, the Emerald Grotto, the Grotta della Pandora and the amazing coastal towns of Amalfi, Ravello, Atrani, Cetara, Minori and Maiori.
Enjoy the view of these Amalfi coast towns from the water and grab some great photos. Then experience the special feature and beauty of each town: the Sal de Riso pastry shop in Minori, the Cetara fishing village and its delicious fresh tuna or a morning cappuccino served in local Vietri ceramic cups as you take in fabulous views like this.
Other Amalfi Coast boat tours
Chat with Elisabeth and design your own half-day or full-day Amalfi coast boat tour. One town I love along the coast is Vietri, one of the top ceramic producing towns in Italy. It's accessible by car but traffic is usually very heavy and parking almost impossible. Instead, with a boat tour, you approach Vietri by sea and capture the beauty of the town from the water. You'll see the famous pink house that's become a favorite photograph on Instagram. Take your own photo and then head into the town to buy some beautiful ceramic dishes to take home.
You may have another Amalfi coast town you'd like to explore and Elisabeth will work with you to create your own customized itinerary.
Sunset boat tour
Sunsets along the Amalfi coast are something you don't want to miss! True, they're gorgeous on land but the view from the sea is spectacular. This is a relaxing boat tour to take in the beauty of the Amalfi coast while you enjoy a Prosecco. It's a great romantic tour but perfect for anyone who is enthralled with this breathtaking coastline.
Getting to Positano: car, train, bus, ferry
There are lots of options and ways to reach Positano and most people love to go by car or hire a driver. This winding road is full of bends and curves and the views are something you don't want to miss. Are you looking for a driver? Contact me directly and I'll get you set up!
There are plenty of high-speed trains from Rome to Naples that will get you there in just over an hour (you can also book your tickets here). You can meet up with your driver right at the Naples train station.
Another option is to go one more train stop to Sorrento where you can catch a ferry boat to Positano. It's just a 10 minute walk from the Sorrento train station to the port. Bear in mind that this option is strictly seasonal so plan other travel options in the winter months. Still another option from the Sorrento train station is to catch a bus to Positano and the SITA bus company offers a number of options.
For an extra special once in a lifetime experience Blue Star Positano offers private transportation from the port in Naples to Positano. It's a costly option – slightly more than €1000 – but full of incredible views of the Amalfi Coast.
If you happen to be staying in Capri you can do the reverse and take a one day round-trip boat tour to Positano.
If you pass through Naples to get to Positano don't miss out on this incredible city full of art, culture and delicious food. Check out my Naples in a Day that shares all the best things to do in one day, plus how to get to and from the city.
Where to stay in Positano
There are lots of accommodation possibilities within the heart of this hillside town or just outside at a neighboring town like Praiano. There's everything from very high end luxury accommodation to more characteristic, family-style Positano accommodation experiences, like the Casa Cosenza. It's my number one choice - we've been staying here for over 30 years – and it's a multigenerational family owned business with charming rooms and spectacular views.
