March 8 is International Women’s Day so who better to feature in March than No Crumbs Left creator Teri Turner? Teri has built her fantastic food, recipe and lifestyle blog from what started out as an Instagram profile into one of the top food blogs. She now has 2/3 of a million followers on Instagram and 10 million views per month on Pinterest.
How did Teri choose the name No Crumbs Left?
I love the name especially as I am a no crumbs left kind of a person: every crumb and drop of food on my plate gets eaten. It was Teri‘s youngest daughter Lucy who came up with the name and it’s been a winner.
Teri’s cooking style
Teri says “it’s good to follow a recipe but best to know how to cook”. She’s had a lifelong passion for cooking and an innate sense of cooking techniques but she says anyone can become a great cook. It’s a question of following proven techniques and practicing.
Classic cooking techniques
Teri cooks with basic tools so no Instapot, slow cooker or other shortcut equipment. She says there are plenty of people with websites that focus on equipment like the Instapot but her style is classic and she prefers to use her basic tools and techniques.
Teri cooks by the season
Teri cooks by the season so when figs and tomatoes are in season she features them regularly in her recipes. She also feels strongly about supporting farmers and growers. She says that if you’re buying a tomato or a fig out of season it’s only available because it’s been shipped from far away and suggests that it’s best, when possible, to incorporate ingredients in recipes that are grown locally.

I initially found Teri on Instagram when I was following one of her stories that featured figs. Each and every one of her stories is long and anyone who watches her stories can replicate her recipes because they are thorough and detailed.

A few years back Teri was looking for the perfect ceramic bowl for her marinated onions and just couldn’t find one. They were either too short or too tall, or too wide or in one way or another just not right. She approached a ceramicist who created just the right bowl for her and that was the springboard for the creation of the No Crumbs Left ceramics line. Not only are they beautiful but each and every piece has a lucky symbol on the base: it could be Teri’s lucky number 48, or a rooster which represents her mom, a horse shoe or another symbol. Teri’s dietary choices
Teri focuses on foods that feel best for her body, as well as on portion control. Her diet choices are hers alone based on what makes her feel best.
For the past five years Teri has been gluten-free as she’s come to realise that gluten, and also dairy products, don’t always sit well with her body. She loves a vegetable and fruit rich diet, along with some lean meats and fish.
The Whole 30 diet program is a diet for life rather than simply a weight loss diet. It focuses on the foods that work best for Teri. Teri’s Advice for Women
I asked Teri what advice she would give to women in honor of International Women’s Day. Her advice is simple and straightforward: be yourself. If you have an online business focus on creating interesting content and don’t worry about numbers, but rather focus on the joy what you’re doing brings to you. Make a point of engaging with everyone and answer every single comment and question.
And bottom line: Make sure you create a seat at the table for everyone you encounter in your life.
