Insider's Guide to Italy's undiscovered Piedmont Region

    Italy's overlooked, "hidden" gem

This is a region overflowing with culinary goodies: Barolo and Barbaresco wine, Alba white truffles, gianduia chocolate. The landscape is magnificent and deserves exploration to uncover and enjoy the region's marvelous castles, wineries, and historic landmarks.

I've made an occasional trip to Piedmont, mostly for business, but until last week hadn't taken the time to dig deeper into the region. The Alba white truffle festival just finished up so we decided it was a perfect time to head up to Piedmont for a white truffle hunt. Although we have friends in the region, it made sense to work with a Piedmont travel expert to find the right truffle hunter and that's when I came upon Carlotta Prandi, the one woman business owner of Piedmont Tours.
Not only was Carlotta always available and expert at helping us find perfect accommodation, it was she who organized our fabulous white truffle hunt.
Carlotta also took us on a walking tour of Piedmont's capital city and her home, Torino, and unveiled parts of the city even our native Torinese friends knew nothing about.
If you'd like to explore Piedmont "the right way" reach out to Carlotta to work out your customized Piedmont experience, or choose from one of her tours or travel experiences.
Take a look at her website, reach out to Carlotta by email, and check out her social media - both Instagram and Facebook.
